WALTER NORMAN (DICK) SHEPHERD Peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2000 with his loving family by his side, Dad left us to rejoin his beloved wife Mary in theewall area for most of his life. Since Marys demise in 1979, Dad has l house of our Lord. Dad was born in Winnipeg in May of 1914 and resided in the Stonived with us, and been lovingly cared for by his three daughters, Donna, Lesley and Norma. Following his service with the RCAF as a decorated Spitfire Pilot during the war years, Dad returned to Canada with his war bride, Mary and set up a feed-mill business in the town of Stonewall. Dad was a correctional officer with the Stony Mountain Penitentiary until his retirement. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Mary; his mother Mary; his infant daughter Connie; his sister Evelyn and his brother Bob. Left to mourn his passing are his daughters, Norma (Jim) Neufeld of Birds Hill, Donna (Doug) King of Calgary, Lesley (Pat) Donahoe of Petersfield and son Alan (Sandie) of Winnipeg and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their heartfelt thank-you to Donelda La Roque for all of her care and support of their father and the family during the past few years and to Dads special friend Carl who never missed visiting. A special thanks also to Dr. Racette and Dr. Speer and the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for all their kindness and patience with the family during Dads final days. Pallbearers for Dad will be his sons-in-law, Jim, Doug and Pat and his brother David and nephews, Phillip Johnson and Robert Shepherd. A celebration of Dads life will be held in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Tuesday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Bruce Miles will officiate, interment will follow in the Stonewall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Dad would like to the remembered with donations to the Childrens Wish Foundation. Go with the wind to that special place, To be with Mom and live in grace, Go all alone, but take great care, Our loving Papa, and our Daddy-Bear.
