Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY FOSTER Roy Foster, a Colton Resident for over 30 years, died in an Oregon City care center on January 28, 2000. He was 80. Surviving are his wife Evelyn; sons, George Foster of Lincoln City and Doug Foster of Colton; daughter Linda Bauer of Colton; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Foster was born to George A. and Mary Rickards Foster in Winnipeg, Canada, on May 25, 1919. He was raised in Winnipeg where he received his schooling. On August 31, 1940 he was married to Evelyn Pophan. In 1942, Roy enlisted in the Army to serve in the Royal Canadian Artillery during the Second World War. He served in the North Pacific and Europe and attained the rank of Lance Corporal before his discharge in 1946. Roy was employed as a foreman in the manufacturing of sheet rock for Western Gypsum in Canada until 1952 they moved to California to live at Anaheim where he worked as a carpenter for the school district. In 1961, they came to Colton where they finished raising their family. Besides working as a custodian for the North Clackamas School District, Roy enjoyed spending time working around their farm and raising cattle. He retired in 1980. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Colton Lutheran Cemetery. Estacada Funeral Chapel is in care of the arrangements.
