HAZEL IRENE SCHEIRICH (nee PETFORD) Peacefully, on Monday, January 31, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Hazel Irene Scheirich passed away at the age of 68, with her husband by her side. She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 50 years, Herman and by her children, Wendy (Joe), Wanda (Arch), Carolyn (Roger), Tena (Randy) and Darrell (Marilyn). She will also be missed by her ten grandchildren; her brothers, Rodney (Grace) and Bobbie (Donna) her sister Isabel (Larry) and numerous other relatives and friends. Mum loved her summers at Lee River and her winters in Harlingen, Texas. She was an avid curler, golfer, card player, craftsperson and dear friend to many. Mum was predeceased by her father Frederick John in 1951; her mother Ethel Caroline in 1975; her granddaughter Crystal in 1976; her brother Frederick in 1987 and her sister Ruby in 1994. Special thanks to the Oncology Clinic, 3B and 3E doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care and support. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
