He leaves to mourn his passing, son Ian (Georgette) grandchildren, Greg, Gloria and Glen (Lorraine) great-grandchildren, Alexis, Thad, J.J. and Sam; three nieces, Marilyn, Sylvia and Christine and their families; and also his longtime neighbours. Irving was predeceased by his wife Eileen; his parents, Frank and Annie and a sister Muriel and brothers, Melvin and Leslie. Irving was born in Como, Que., May 13, 1904. He came to Winnipeg in the early 1920s where he met and married Eileen Hetherington. They settled in the West End of the city where he lived until the time of his death. Dad was a stone cutter at Tyndal and then at Gillis Quarries. He was especially proud of his carvings that adorn Tec-Voc High School and the McDonald Hotel in Edmonton. After stonecutting became more automated he worked for Bullock Furnaces until his retirement in 1972. Dad was a member of the West End Seniors Centre where he enjoyed the "eats" as he called them as well as the fellowship. Dad especially enjoyed the time at his cottage in Minaki. He was also an avid 5 pin bowler. Dad was a kind and gentle man who always had a keen interest in his family and the day to day happenings in his neighbourhood. Cremation and interment has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m., at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey street entrance, with the Rev. We also would like to thank Dr. Rubinger and his nurses, Jo Ann and Dawn of the Health Sciences Centre Cancer Clinic. We would also like to thank the Home Care service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. "Rest in Peace Dad" NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
