LESLIE ALEXANDER BURNS Suddenly on Monday, January 31, 2000 at the Bethesda Hospital, Leslie Alexander Burns passed away at the age of 69 years. He was born on August 23, 1920 in Giroux, MB. Left to mourn his passing are his sisters, Ruth (Allan) Burr of Goodlands, MB, Grace (Ralph) Wastle of Winnipeg, Ruby McDonald of Giroux, Margaret (Amie) Boivin of Giroux, Barbara Vandal of Giroux, Mary Lou Adams of Steinbach, Jean (Ed) Boivin of Giroux, Diana (Charlie) Cyr of Giroux; sister-in-law Lucey Burns of Winnipeg; brothers, George (Francis) Burns of Thunder Bay, ON, Stan (Cam) Burns of Winnipeg; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Mary Burns and brother Dave Burns. Other than a brief period working in the forest industry in North Western Ontario, Les spent his entire life working on the family farm in Giroux, MB. He enjoyed the outdoors, farm animals, wildlife and most of all, visits from his nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on February 4 at 2:00 p.m. with Ms. Dee McEachern officiating. Service will terminate at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Childrens Wish Foundation or a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach 204-326-1351.
