Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP JOSEPH FONTAINE April 14, 1911 - January 18, 2000 Peacefully on January 18, 2000 with family at his bedside, Philip ªJoseph Fontaine aged 88 years went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. Philip is survived by his wife Marie of 65 years and be seven children. Sons, Harry (Mary), Eugene (Kathy), Allan (Wanda), Curtis (Connie) daughters, Virginia, Rita, Joan (Doug) and 33 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father Louise and Nancy Fontaine; sons, Remie and Rudolph; granddaughters, Lana-Marie and Gina and by brothers, George L., William and Joseph as well as sisters, Rosanne and Isabelle. Philip was a man of his word. He believed when a man said he was going to do something he did it. He had a great sense of humour and loved to sit and reminisce about days gone by, about how hard things were back then and about how good things are today. Philips wife and family were very dear to him and he proved this by his hard work, his perseverance, his commitment to everything he set his mind to do. He taught his family how to provide for themselves and how to work for an honest living. He never had an unkind word to say about anybody and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He worked hard at the Pine Falls Paper Mill for 27 years until his retirement. Throughout his 88 years he made many friends who will miss him dearly, but will remember his gentleness, compassion and light heartedness. The family would like to thank Dr. Van Zyl, Dr. Mare and the entire Staff of the Pine Falls Health Complex for the compassion and kindness they gave to Philip. You shall be rewarded one day for all that youve done for Philip. Wake services will be held at the home of Harry Fontaine, North Shore, Ft. Alexander beginning January 18. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Friday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Ft. Alexander, Man., with Fr. F. Paradis officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be sons, Harry, Eugene, Allan, Curtis; grandsons, Brian, Philip Jr.; daughters, Virginia, Rita and Joan. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Remie Fontaine, Mike Fontaine, Kelvin Fontaine, Vernon Paul, Glen Paupanekis and Bobby Paupanekis. I raise my eyes toward the mountains, >From where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, The maker of heaven and earth, God will not allow your foot to slip; Your guardian does not sleep, Truly, the guardian of Israel Never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord is your guardian; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. By day the sun cannot harm you, nor the moon by night, The Lord will guard you from all evil, Will always guard your life. The Lord will guard your coming and going both now and forever. Psalm #121. RUSSELL FUNERAL HOMES LTD. AND CREMATORIUM of Beausejour, Manitoba in care of arrangements, 1-204-268-2263.
