ANNA KATRIN AYOTTE "ANNE" Anne was born in Piney, MB on April 7, 1917, where she lived with her family (Stephanson) for her first 19 years. She married Gerry Ayotte in 1936 and spent the next 42 years working alongside her husband in the hotel and hospitality industry in Piney, Swan River and Winnipeg. They raised three children, Beverly (Mill Valley, Calif.), Brian (Salmon Arm, BC) and Ged (Abbotsford, BC). After the death of her husband, Anne spent a few years in Vancouver before settling in the Sandstone community of Kelowna. After a brief struggle with cancer she died peacefully in hospital in Salmon Arm on Christmas Day, 1999. Her life was blessed with joy and love in her family and many friends in Kelowna and across Manitoba. Her sister, Mrs. Gertie Williams; her three children; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren are grateful for the blessings she brought to their lives. The grace of her 82 years was celebrated with a funeral mass in Salmon Arm, BC. Ashes will be interred alongside her husband in Winnipeg in June, 2000.
