Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE BENDERSKI Suddenly, at Concordia Hospital on January 31, 2000, Christine Benderski, aged 80 years passed away. Chris (as she was known) was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1980. Together they had owned and operated Glenwood Groceries in Elmwood for nearly 30 years. Left to mourn her passing are her four children and their families, Howard and wife Barbara, grandchildren, Jason and Sheri-Lee of Saskatoon, SK, Patricia Turner, granddaughter Stacey and great-grandson, Spencer of Vancouver, B.C., Ron and wife Lillian of White Rock, B.C. and Janet Wiatrowski and husband Jay and grandson Devin Bray of Winnipeg, MB. For the past 11 years Chris has resided at Kildonan Horizons in East Kildonan. She met many people there and made some good friends. Chris enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bingo as well as a visit now and then to Club Regent. During the time she spent at home, she would like to "yell at the TV" during wrestling or hockey games. Chris worked for several years in the food catering business at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, Naleway and Moonies Catering. It was in the cooking area that she particularly excelled. Her kids still (and always will) believe she was the Best Cook in the world. Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 3 at 2:30 p.m. Both remembrances will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 586-8044. Interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Obirek, Ken Obirek, Terry Benderski, Darrell Benderski, Jason Benderski and Robert Bray.
