HUGH McIVER Aged 84 years passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 2000. He is survived by his wife Alexina, son Garry and his wife Suzanne, numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Wowota, Sk, raised in Carman, MB, the son of Donald Murdo and Ella (York) McIver. He was predeceased by siblings, Muriel, Adele, Kenneth, Phyllis and his first wife Isabel (Patterson). During the Second World War, served at Fleet Aircraft Company in Fort Erie, ON; resettled in Winnipeg, engaged in careers at Fosh Signs, 17 years with the Province of Manitoba, Highways Department. Hugh was active in community sports and the United Church. Upon retirement, carpentry and woodworking were his passion. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their dignified treatment over the last two months. A special thank you to nephews Ted and Brent Catchpole and their spouses Deanna and Carolyn for their support on behalf of Alexina. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. at Aubrey. Donations in Hughs name may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 409 Tache, Winnipeg R2H 2A6 or to the charity of your choice.
