Mom will also be remembered by many beloved and extended family members. Mom was a very unselfish, thoughtful and loving person who had a smile for everyone. Her greatest love was her family and she never felt more joy than when all her family were together. Mom had many fond memories of her and Dad raising their family on Radford Street, where many lifelong friendships were made and cherished to this day. Mom enjoyed a long, successful career as a Correctional Officer at the Manitoba Home for Girls where she made many lasting friendships with her colleagues as well as clients. She always believed everyone deserved a second chance. Mom had a very strong faith and was grateful for the spiritual guidance she received from both Canon Barbara Barnett and Reverend Aubrey Hemminger at the Deer Lodge Centre. The family would like to thank all Moms care givers on the 7th and 4th floors at the Deer Lodge Centre. You were all special in your own way to Mom and we will always remember how well you cared for her. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. A private interment will take place on Monday, February 7, at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation or the Huntington Society on Moms behalf. Rest in peace Mom
