ELMER DOERKSEN After a long fight, Elmer went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on February 3, 2000 at the age of 54 years. Left to mourn are his wife Melba; sons, Terry, Bob (Bonnie), Cory (Lynn), Ken (Marcy) grandchildren, John, Devon, Luke, A.D., Josh, Kelly, Rose, Christopher, and River; brothers, Ike (Tina), Peter (Wilma), Frank (Mary), sisters, Susan (Peter) Martens, Tina Neufeld, Sara (Frank) Dueck, Phyllis (John) Penner, Shirley Derksen; numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his mother Susanna, father Isaac; brother Jack; and brother-in-law Harry. Special thanks to Dr. H.B. Lee and other doctors and staff at Concordia Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Apostolic Church, 305 Machray Ave. and Aikens with Rev. Randy Wengel, Rev. Tom Campbell, and Rev. Chuck Sheridan officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, send contributions to Elmers home church, Zion Apostolic Church in his honour. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
