JEANETTE MARIE MEAGHER (nee YELLE) Peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2000, Jean passed into the loving arms of the Lord. She has left this world to join her loving husband Bill, predeceased in December of 1992. Jean was born on April 4, 1922 in Edmonton, Alberta to Alice and Ralph Yelle. She grew up in a loving home with her four brothers, Ernie, Leo, Raymond and Jerry. After her schooling in Edmonton, she went on to study nursing. She specialized in the care of sick children and travelled throughout Canada for her training. Jean retired from nursing when she met and married her Irish prince, John William Meagher, on September 30, 1954. They were blessed with three loving sons Francis, Patrick and Terrence. In the summer of 1970, the family moved to Winnipeg and resided in the St. Vital area. When Bill retired in 1983 they enjoyed travelling to Florida for the winters and summer at their cottage on beautiful Lake of the Woods Ontario. In 1987 they moved to Vancouver, BC to enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather. Upon her husbands passing, Jean returned to Winnipeg to be closer to her sons. Jean was blessed with six precious grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Margot, Connor, Dillon and Holly. These grandbabies brought much laughter and joy to her life, as she did to theirs. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be sadly missed by all that knew her. We wish to thank the Doctors and Nurses on 3B, 4D and Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital who took care of our Mom. A very special thank you To Dr. J. Foerster and the staff at WeCare Home Health Services who made sure our mother was very comfortable. Cremation has taken place.
