LILLIAN MAY OWENS On February 3, 2000, after a lengthy illness mom passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the young age of 81 years. Mom endured the difficulties of her illness with courage and determination. She has been an inspiration to all those who were blessed to share her life. Her husband, Eugene, predeceased her in 1977. Her son, Timothy and daughter-in-law Maria and many extended family members in North America survive her. Mom was born January 5, 1919 in Morris, Man. She worked for Manitoba Telephone Systems and Clark Papers until 1956. She retired from working outside the home in 1957 when her son, Timothy was born. Mom had many hobbies, skills and talents. Her passions were Bingo and cooking. Mom will always be remembered for her quick wit and humour. She has asked to be cremated and the memorial service will be held on Monday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Tim and I wish to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre and Victoria Hospital for all of their care and kindness that they showed to Mom. She will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, if friends should desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Riverview Health Centre. Mom will be missed by her family and very dear friends.
