SAMUEL MURRAY TAYLOR It is with deep sadness that the family of Murray Thomson announces his passing on January 27, 2000 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 76 years after a lengthy illness. Murray was born on February 25, 1924 in Morris, MB to James and Agnes Thomson. He joined the army in 1941 and served five years in the Second World War and was discharged in February of 1946. Murray then worked for Manitoba Telephone Systems as a lineman until 1955. Murray then moved to Calgary where he worked for A.G.T. until his retirement in April of 1979. Murray also worked for five years with the Canadian Commissioners from which he retired in July of 1988. Murray was predeceased by his parents, James and Agnes Thomson; one sister Sadie Jorgenson; four sisters-in-law, Elsie Thomson, Marg Thomson, Janet Thomson and Dorothy Thomson. One brother-in-law Jack Bertie, one step son Vern Irwin. Murray is survived by his loving companion Pat Irwin; her daughter Terry and sons, Ryan and Ryley. Three brothers, Jim of Whitemouth, Bill of Lynn Lake, Don (Carol) of Komarno. Three sisters, Alexia Bertie of Winnipeg, Mabel (Morris) Jorgenson of Orangeville, ON, Joyce Bobrowski of Winnipeg. One brother-in-law Len Jorgenson of Morris, MB. Many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 31 at the Calgary Crematorium Chapel. If so desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
