ALFRED ALAN FRED YEOMANS Alfred Alan Fred Yeomans, of Alexander, MB, beloved husband of Margaret and much loved father and grandfather, died en route to the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, February 2, 2000. Fred was born April 11, 1927 on the family farm to Alan and Frances (nee Wolverton) Yeomans. He received his education through the Dalton and Alexander Schools. Fred worked his entire life on the farm where he was born and lived for 70 years. During his lifetime, he belonged to the Airforce Cadets in his teenage years, the Masons, Foresters, Alexander United Church Board, Alexander School Board, Manitoba Limousin Association, and Manitoba Pool. Fred displayed a keen interest in all aspects of farming and he took advantage of many opportunities to learn new methods to improve the farm, such as, completing electricians, small engines, accounting and cattle courses. In later years, some of his greatest joys came from his grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by his mother and father; sister Isabel Kellet and brothers, David and Jack Yeomans. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Mary Lee (Scott) Levins and grandchildren, Marley and Matthew Levins; son Mark (Bonnie) Yeomans and grandchildren, Stacy, Kaitlyn and Bo Yeomans; daughter Janet (Douglas) McNutt and grandchildren, Erin, Catherine and Nicholas McNutt; brothers, Newton (Helen) Yeomans and Harold (Pat) Yeomans, sister Flora (Bud) Danylchuck; as well as nieces and nephews from around the world. Funeral service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Monday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Nesbitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Alexander Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Douglas McNutt, Scott Levins, Len James, Jim James, Bob Izzard and Rod McKay. Honourary pallbearers will be Madge and Lloyd Gamley, Andy Pomeroy, Ken James, Edith McAuley, Bea Goulsbra, Mel and Joyce MacKay and Pat and Hugh McManes. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 42 McTavish Ave., E., Brandon R7A 2B2. Arrangements are in care of Brockie Donovan, 727-0694.
