Born at Roland, Man. on February 9, 1913 Dad grew up through a depression and the Second World War, which left him with an admirable work ethic. He appreciated life and was always willing to help others. During the war he served as a Gunner with the First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He was employed by Canada Post as a Letter Carrier for over 28 years and was one year short of being retired for the same amount of time. Dad loved beekeeping and considered the bees as his friends. He was a bee inspector for approximately five years and loved to travel the countryside meeting people. Dad was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 164, Lac du Bonnet and valued the friendship he had with his comrades. As a father he was second to none. Under often difficult conditions, he kept his family together. His need always came last. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. D. Dueck, and the nurses and support staff of the Beausejour and District Hospital for the comforting care Dad received while battling cancer. Special thanks also to his many dear friends who helped make his last days as enjoyable as possible. Dads telephone conversations with his sister-in-law, Dora Stitt of Hot Springs, AR were very special to him. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour with Pastor Mae Dumcum officiating. I have had a long life. Be happy!" Dad We will never forget your twinkling eyes And your amazing smile. The man you have been and the values You taught us are the best Legacy a father could leave his children. Thanks Dad.
