LOUISE ELIZABETH STONE (nee LINN) Peacefully, in her home, Mom passed away at the age of 81, on February 3, 2000. Predeceased by her husband Hugh James Stone, she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Elwood (Sandralynn) of Kelowna, B.C., Sheldon of Sardis, B.C., Sandra of New Westminster, B.C., Cynthia (Michael Bowen) of Parksville, B.C., Patrice (Jim Wilken) of Winnipeg, and also by her grandchildren, the special joys of her life, Erica Linn Wilken, Kaitlyn, Gwynne and Corinne Stone. Mom was born in 1918 in Mount Green, Saskatchewan. She grew up on the farm as one of eight children born to John and Perpetua Linn. After relocating to Manitoba, near the end of the Great Depression, she met "Hughie," the love of her life, whom she married in 1944. Together they relocated to Poplar Point, Manitoba, where they raised their five "Pebbles" and farmed until 1961. They then relocated the family to Winnipeg, where Mom resided in St. James until her passing. Prayers will be said on Monday February 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday February 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Avenue. At the familys request, the service will terminate at the church. A reception will be held in the church parish hall following the service. In keeping with Moms life-long tradition of helping others, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, you support the charity of your choice.
