REGINALD GEORGE FOX Peacefully, at his home and with his loving family at his side Dad started his final journey. Dad was predeceased by his parents Mabel and George Fox of Carman, brothers Clair and Robert, sisters Lariene, Rhea, Marion, Helen and Myrtle. Dad is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dorothea (nee Hart) of Lockport; children Laurie (Susan)of Toronto, Susan (Rick) Cochrane of Toronto, and Lesley (Garth) Buchko, of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Sean, Colin, Brendan, Ashley, Erin, Matthew, Riley and Connor; brother Jack, sister Dorothy, and sister-in-law Aletha, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad attended school in Carman, joined the PPCLI, and upon discharge enrolled in the University of Manitoba, obtaining his degree in civil engineering. During the summers Dad worked for the Province of Manitoba and upon graduating he accepted a position with the Province of Saskatchewan Highways Department in Rosetown. From Rosetown the family moved to Seattle; where Dad was employed by Boeing Aircraft, then to Boissevain with the Province of Manitoba Highways. He was then employed at District 12 in Winnipeg until his retirement in 1990. Dad was a quiet loving man whose life was centered around the love for his family. He took pride in the accomplishments of his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren. His love of all creatures great and small was known to all, animals held a very special place in his heart. Reg loved to travel, especially his yearly trips to Hawaii which he shared with Dorothea, his children, and grandchildren. Dad enjoyed his church, serving as both peoples warden and rectors warden of St. Matthews Rosetown, and on the vestry of St. Matthews Boissevain. He took part in Legion Branch No. 10 and the Lions Club of Boissevain. Sports was very important in Dads life, and he followed his teams with excitement and passion. The family wishes to express gratitude to those who enabled Dad to remain is his home; which he so dearly loved; these include: Dr. M. Gabriel, Linda from V.O.N., Denise from Cancer Care Manitoba, and Pat, his home care worker. A special thank you to Kirth; who made Dad smile as he brought a ray of sunshine into Dads room each morning. Thank you also to the many friends at St. Vital Knights Villa for their acts kindness and support, especially the neighbours and friends on the 4th floor. Acting as Honorary Pallbearers are: Al Carther, Al Bayko, Jeff Black, Don Armstrong, Ed Buchko, Art Baxterr, and Alan Fogg. Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. In accordance with Dads wishes the family will take his ashes to Hawaii. Donations may be made in Dads memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
