STUART ALLAN DREWETT On Saturday, February 5, 2000 at home surrounded by family, Stuart Drewett beloved husband of Patricia and father of Roy Stuart Martin Drewett passed away. Also surviving are brothers, Gordon (Alice) and Douglas (Donna) sisters, Norman and Marion; nieces, Patty (David) MacDonald, Sandra Bradley, Carolyn Drewett and Linda Blakney-Drewett. He was predeceased by his parents and an infant brother. Allan was born on July 1, 1922 in Portage la Prairie, and received his education there. Allan retained a love of the Prairies and Marshlands surrounding Portage. He was a keen student of nature and well-versed in the animal field - a great lover of dogs. Allans pleasant outgoing nature among his associates earned him a host of friends. His warmth and generosity was enjoyed by his extended family. In 1942 Allan joined the RCAF and served overseas on Bomber bases in Northern England as an armourer. On returning to Canada he was employed at Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River, Ont. Allan returned to Winnipeg in 1953 and joined the construction branch of the Federal Department of Transportation, serving Northwestern Ontario and the Eastern Arctic, until his retirement in 1986. Allan was a "Fifty Plus" member of the St. James Legion #4. Allan wished to remain at home during his illness. This was made possible by the efforts of Dr. Duane Hartley, Dr. Jan Mulder, V.O.N. nurse Chris Carlyle, Edgar Delaquis of Central Medical Lab and very special niece, Elizabeth Wright. Patricia and Roy wish to express thanks and appreciation to relatives, friends and church family for their comfort and support through this most difficult time. In accordance with Allans wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St. at Kingsway Avenue. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 9Z9, or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3. God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December. (James M. Barrie). NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
