JOHN FRANK HERBERT WILSON After a brief illness, on Saturday, February 5, 2000, at St. Boniface Hospital, our dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at the age of 90. Dad was born July 7, 1909 in Winnipeg and lived here all his life. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Bob (Shane) daughter Joanne (Harry) Roussin; grandchildren, Randy Roussin, Pam (Terry) Roussin, Andria (Wayne) McCaughan, Scott (Liz) Wilson, Darcy (Kerry) Davies, Judy (Rick) McMillan and 11 great-grandchildren, Cory, Darryl, Michelle, Jessica and Jordan Davies, Stacy McMillan, Cassidy and Nicholas McCaughan, and Erin, Shannon, and Kiera Wilson; his brother Stafford of Penticton, B.C., and two special friends, Olive Peter of Winnipeg and Ruby Monson of Mesa, Arizona. He was predeceased in 1981 by Gladys, his wife and pal of 48 years, and his sister Marjorie in 1997. He was employed 47 years with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission, the last 25 years as a store manager, retiring in 1974. He was a long time member of St. Phillips Anglican Church, Khartum Temple, Ancient Landmark Masonic Lodge and was a Past Commander of the Scottish Rite. A long time resident of Norwood, dad was a founding member of Champlain Community Club and an eight year member of Norwood School Board. He spent 20 winters in Mesa, Arizona at Ambassador Downs and loved that community. An avid golfer and bowler, he was a fan of all professional sports and astounded many as he spewed out statistics on the most obscure players of the past 80 years. His memory never failed him to the end. Many thanks to the care givers of 6A South who were remarkable during the last six weeks of his life. Cremation has taken place, with Neil Bardal Inc. in charge of arrangements. A service to celebrate dads life will be held Friday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Phillips Church, 240 Tache Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in dads memory to St. Phillips Anglican Church.
