LUCIEN JOSEPH PELOQUIN It is with great sorrow that the family announce the passing of Lucien Joseph Peloquin, peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2000 in Brandon, Manitoba. Lucien was born on October 20, 1920 in Ste. Agathe, Manitoba, the son of the late Wilfred and Clara Peloquin. For over 40 years, he was employed in the construction industry. He began his career with his father. Lucien later moved to St. Lazare where he met his wife of 47 years, Marie-Anne (nee Chartier). They married and together, in 1963, they moved to Brandon where they settled to raise their family. Lucien was actively involved in his parish community, St. Augustines, and proudly served as a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Lucien spent many special times with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, curling, golfing and especially his woodworking, which gave him great pleasure. He spent hours handcrafting many special gifts for his loved ones. Lucien will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Marie-Anne; sons, Luc (Kelly) of Winnipeg and Henri (Greer) of Winnipeg; and daughters, Edith (Herb) Summerfeldt, Laure (Rod) Brecht, both of Winnipeg, and Brigette (Bob) Bazin of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, as well as ten grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Irene (Fred) Beamer of Portage la Prairie and Julie Maroney of Winnipeg and brother Raymond Peloquin of St. Malo, MB. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 9, with Fr. Rainerio Sarce as celebrant. The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus formed the Honor Guard. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lucien may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 203 - 42 McTavish Avenue E., Brandon, R7A 2B2. Arrangements were in care of Brockie Donovan, Brandon.
