Remaining to forever cherish Mabels memory are her husband Ben of 56 years of marriage; two daughters, Judy (Mobberley) and Barbara (Pettinger) of Calgary and son Jim (Debbie), as well as her two precious grandsons, ("My Boys") Ryan and Corey; brother Dan, with whom she has been especially involved during her life; brother-in-law Armen and his wife Joyce Petznik (Vancouver), whom she has been very close to, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Ethel Scully; sisters, Susie and Olive and by her brothers, Maurice, Pat and Bun. Mabel loved children and spent her life being a devoted and loving mother, not just to her own children, but to many others. She will be missed by her "adopted" children, Diane and Al Watt and their family. Through her babysitting, she developed lifelong relationships with many families, in particular Roger and Lee Cathcart and their children. Mabel was a giving person who loved being with people. She spent many hours volunteering at the Earl Grey Community Centre for which she was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year in 1998. Mabels memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11 at 1:30 p.m. in the Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Ave., Winnipeg, Man., with Rev. Bill Millar officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date. Our family would like to express a special thanks to all the neighbourhood friends who visited her regularly during her illness; to the staff of the Dialysis Unit, St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and support, both to Mabel and her family; Tim of Pastor Care and as well, to the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Mabels memory to the St. Boniface General Hospital, Dialysis Unit, Patient Care Fund 9332, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2A6.
