PAULI OLAVI RAINONEN On Friday, February 4, 2000, at the age of 85 years, Paul Rainonen passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Pauli was born in Raakkyla, Finland in 1914. He was a Finnish veteran of Winter War and the Second World War. In 1951 he immigrated to Canada with his family. He received his carpenters papers in the 1950s and worked as a carpenter until retirement. Pauli is mourned by his wife of 56 years, Maire; son Paul Rainonen; daughter Tuula Gross and son-in-law Richard Gross, and grandson Brendan Rainonen. He is survived by three sisters, Kirsti, Aaltonen, Hilkka Lahdenvirta, and Laina Mononen of Finland. For the past seven years Pauli has been at St. Norbert Nursing Home. The family thanks all the caring staff there and the nurses and staff at the Seven Oaks and Dr. Miller for the kind care during his illness. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, entrance on Aubrey Street. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
