PETER CHARNEY February 10, 1908 - February 9, 2000 A gentle soul is at rest. As quietly and peacefully as he lived, Peter died in the early hours of February 9, 2000, at the Betel Home, Selkirk. Left to cherish his memory is his sister Olga Thomas of Pine Falls; his brother Bill of Winnipeg and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Winnie; brothers, Mike and Tony and sisters, Pauline, Anne, Mary and Jenny. He lived and farmed in Matlock, Manitoba for most of his life, where everyone knew him as Pete. He was liked and appreciated by friends and neighbours. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, February 11 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, at 3:00 p.m. Interment of ashes to take place at a later date in the St. Georges Anglican Church, Wakefield, Manitoba. The family extends a special thanks to those who cared for Pete in recent months, his neighbours, the Pennys, the ladies from homecare and the staff at the Betel Home.
