Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES MONICA DEWAR (nee SPARROW) Peacefully, on February 9, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer, Agnes passed away at the age of 62 years. Agnes was born in Earl Grey, Saskatchewan, April 11, 1937 and attended school in Gibbs until age 13 when failing vision forced her to leave home for the residential school for the blind located in Brantford, ON. Following her return from Brantford, Agnes made Winnipeg her home where she found work in the C.N.I.B. Garment Factory and later at the St. Boniface Hospital developing x-ray films. It was Winnipeg where Agnes met her true love Ron and husband of 37 years, and fulfilled her lifelong ambition of having a family. Agnes had a love and zest for life that was felt by all people she met. An active member of St. Anthonys of Padua Church, she was well known and an inspiration to us all. Agnes was an exercise fanatic known for taking numerous walks and tandem bike rides. She loved baking, flower gardening, listening to soaps and talking books, neighbours visiting in her gazebo, family gatherings and special times with her twin granddaughters. Agnes was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and George Sparrow, and leaves to mourn her beloved husband Ron; children, Alan (Lorraine), Jo-Anne (Kris) Saxberg, Robert and granddaughters, Taryn and India Saxberg; brother and sisters, Bill (Mary), Heath (Marg), Sybil Barnett, Shirley Antrobus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norm and Gail Lowry and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many close friends and neighbours. Special thanks to Dr. Maxwell and staff of Victoria General Oncology Department, Unit #3 Ward, and the VON nurses for their special care.
