JOHN SEVCIK Peacefully, on Saturday, February 12, 2000, surrounded by his family, John passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76 years. John was predeceased by his daughter Jo-Anna Marie. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jacqueline and children, John David, Janis, Joceline (Greg) Krzyszczyk and James (Bonnie) as well as his grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle and Cheryl Lynn. John was born on September 2, 1923 in Belgrad, Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada in 1949. John met and fell in love with Jackie in her hometown of Chatham, Ontario. They moved away to Vancouver to pursue career opportunities. In 1958 they moved to Winnipeg where they were married at St. Marys Cathedral. John had worked for a short time for Duffys Taxi then moved on to work at the Winnipeg Tribune until the paper closed. He then was employed for Canada Post Corporation until his 65th birthday. He continued to work with his wife Jackie at the St. Vital Post Office until she retired. John has touched all our lives with his smile and his big heart. We are sure that everyone who has met our Dad will agree that he touched them in one way or another. "Pampa" will always be remembered as the "chocolate money" man. "Dad, we love you and will miss you greatly." Funeral service for John will be held on Thursday, February 17, at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Parish Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., at Manahan with Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding. A private interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Johns memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. Johns family has entrusted his arrangements to the care of: WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM 897-4665
