KAREN ARMOUR (NIVEN)
Date of Passing: Jan 26, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN ARMOUR (nee NIVEN) Accidentally in Cozumel on January 26, 2000, while scuba diving with her diving buddy Dianne. They impatiently waited 11 months for this return diving holiday. She is survived by Tom, Kristy, Andrew, Braeden and new grandson Bryton (born February 4) in Halifax, Kari, Laz and grandchild-to-be (in June) in France, Kelly and Adam in Toronto, mother-in-law Iris, sister Sandra Nimik and extended family, Aunt Mildred and Uncle Mac, co-workers and friends. Karen was Toms "M.V.P." buddy, teammate for 37+ years and a top drawer mother, mother-in-law, grammy, seamstress, craftmaker, journeylady carpenter, nurse, gardener, landscaper, volunteer, co-worker, kibitzer, neighbour, etc. etc. etc. She was high energy, usually "did it her way" and got 26 hours of accomplishment out of a 14 hour day. Many of us benefit from the legacies and fruits of her fierce determination to finish the project (she knew how to push, nick-named "Sergeant Major" by Laz). Our thanks to her various "project partners" over the years, for sharing her numerous passions with her. Karen lived Joie de Vivre to the fullest, and we pray that her memory inspires our friends to do the same and to take time to smell the roses. God bless Dianne and Kari who were with Karen when she departed our earthly bounds for her eternal peace. Sincere thanks to all for prayers, flowers, words of comfort, offers of assistance etc. Kristy, Kari, Kelly - Please carry the torch for the glory of your Moms life with pride forever more! May God and Mom continue to bless each of you with her traits. Nibs - You were and forever more will be the "wind beneath my wings". Thank you so very much for all the memories and precious experiences. Honey, till we meet again eternally, all my love, Tom. Mom: No words can describe you - you were simply the BEST! "Me" had no meaning for you as everything you did was for the benefit of others. Your heart was the largest and your loving, caring ways will always be remembered. Love was extremely important to you and how you instilled it in our family will be our saving grace. You are sadly missed each and every day, but wonderful memories of you and your bright smile help ease the great pain! Please be our Guardian Angel and provide us the power to carry on. I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH, KRISTY. Your life was a testimony to generosity and love for your family. We will never forget the countless blessings you have bestowed on us. You are the best Mom and Grammy. We miss you more than you will ever know. We love you this much, Andrew, Kristy, Braeden and Bryton. Dearest Mommy: You are the greatest. You are my hero and my inspiration. Youve taught me so much over the years; your enthusiasm, strength and determination in particular. Youve taught me to be an individual, to stand up for myself and to be what I wanted to be. Youve encouraged me to do as youve done, to do what I think best even if it means travelling the road less travelled by. Youve taught me how to be proud - to walk with my head held high. Youve taught me to appreciate, to enjoy each passing minute and take it for all its worth. And youve taught me so much more. But the greatest gift of all is your love - your love of life, your love for yourself and your love for others. And I need that love. We need that love. Please continue to provide us with that love. Please continue to inspire us and to give us the strength to carry on. Were going to miss you incredibly. No one will ever take your place. No one will ever be as beautiful as you. Please Mom, be with us ALWAYS. We love you. Kari, Laz, Jammy and Baby. Mommy: You are my hero! You always have been and always will be. I am very proud to follow in your footsteps, and I accept this challenge with pride. I only hope to be half the person you were. I am forever grateful for ALL the wonderful memories. There are no words to describe how much I will miss you. I love you so very much Mommy. Please continue to share your love and strength with me, now and forever. My endless love..."Kel Bel". A memorial service to celebrate Karens life will be held on Friday, February 18 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Anglican Church, Maryland and St. Matthews St. (Please note, parking is not permitted on Maryland after 3:30 p.m.) Her ashes will be interred this summer. Please, no flowers. If you wish donations to the Canadian Blood Services Winnipeg Centre, 777 William Ave., Winnipeg, would be appreciated. REST IN PEACE
