Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES PERCIVAL BARAGER Peacefully at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, on Saturday, February 12, 2000 Charles Percival Barager, late of Winnipeg, passed away at the age of 89 years. Charles Percival, born February 10, 1910 at Wawanesa, Manitoba, was raised on a farm and developed a great love of the out-of-doors. He spent his adult life following work that allowed him to be outside where he could be a keen observer of nature. "Percy" was a columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press for many years, where his independent thinking told it the way it was. He wrote articles for Canadian and American magazines and in the field of ammunition reloading where he was widely known as a consultant. Percy spent 10 years at Flin Flon and did some mining and diamond drilling. Percys warmth, gentleness and good nature earned him many friends employed at the businesses and services he frequented. He will be fondly remembered by Sue and friends from Smittys on Regent; Louis his barber; the people from Foodfare on Munroe and the staff at the Royal Bank on Regent. Dear friends Grace and Warren Smithers will dearly miss their old friend. Friends would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Concordia Hospital. In fulfilling Percys wishes, there will be no service. At a later date, his ashes will be interred next to his loving wife, Ella Willard (nee Patton) having predeceased him in 1989, at the Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, MB. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in remembrance of Percy to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. A tree will be planted in memory of Percy at Evergreen Memorial Gardens by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel who are entrusted with the arrangements.
