MARJORIE MURDOCH MUIR On February 10, 2000, Marjorie Murdoch Muir passed away at St. Josephs Nursing Home in Thunder Bay, Ontario at the age of 94 years. Born Marjorie Murdoch Rankin on July 27, 1905 in Deloraine, Manitoba, she was the daughter of pioneer homesteading parents. She and her family moved to the city of Winnipeg upon the death of her father in 1920. In Winnipeg, she met and married Andrew James Muir in 1931. He predeceased her in 1943, after 12 years of happy marriage. At that time, Marjorie was left with the care of three small children ages one to ten. It is those children, who today, can, as the scriptures say "arise and call her blessed." Marjorie lived an extremely active life. She was always interested in her husbands business affairs, and on his death, took an active part in his real estate business. She was unusually active in crafts, being an ardent quilter and designer of art pieces. By far her main interest in life, besides her family, was her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose presence she now rejoices. She was active, as long as health permitted in the spiritual activities of His Church, attending Bethesda Church in Winnipeg since 1947. When due to a failing memory she could no longer live alone, she moved to a nursing home in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she could be near one of her children. She leaves behind her three children, Dr. Agnes Elizabeth (Betty) Ring and her husband James (Clinton, NY), Mr. James Rankin Muir and wife Fran (Vancouver), Mr. Roderick Andrew Muir and wife Frances (Thunder Bay) five grandchildren, Andrew Ring, Wesley Muir (Mary), Adrian Muir, Constance (Muir) Chisholm (Stuart) and Sally (Muir) Jacobson (Allan) six great-grandchildren, Thomas Jacobson, Jill Marjorie Jacobson, John Jacobson, Amy Jacobson, Elyse Muir, and Alexandra Chisholm; one sister-in-law Margaret Rankin of Winnipeg, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by six brothers and one sister. The funeral service of Marjorie M. Muir will be held in Bethesda Church, 1350 Grant Avenue, Thursday, February 17 at 3:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Elmwood Cemetery. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
