GEORGE JOHN PUNTON Suddenly on Friday February 11, 2000, George John Punton Jr. passed away in Rathwell, MB at the age of 55 years. George will be sadly missed by his special friend and partner of many years Lorraine Demare; one daughter Krista; four sons, Marc and his daughter Derrian, Tim and wife Shannon and their daughters Courtney and Sidney, Ted and friend Tanya, Toby and wife Kerry. Also left to mourn his passing is his mother Eleanora Punton; two brothers, Ron and wife Doreen, Jim and wife Caren; two sisters, Carole and husband El Bonnee, Donna and husband Rene Kolly; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. George was predeceased by his Dad in April 1997. George was born in Treherne, MB, on January 9, 1945 and lived in Rathwell and Notre Dame most of his life. He took pleasure in the simple things in life. He enjoyed his friends, family and the outdoors. He was a man of many talents who could put hands to fixing anything or helping out anyone who needed it. George will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday February 16 at 3:00 p.m., with Fr. Roland Lanoie officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9.
