JOSE DE AZEVEDO PENICHE Sadly we announce the passing of a special man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Jose de Azevedo Peniche. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born September 25, 1925 in Macieira da Maia, Portugal, he immigrated to Canada and worked as a foreman for B.A. Construction for many years. In his retirement he had a passion for gardening and also enjoyed fishing and working around the house. He will be deeply missed by his wife Adelina; daughters, Tina, Linda (Herlander) and Loretta (Vic), sons, Tino (Fernanda) and Joaquim (Madeline) grandchildren, Alice, Joe, David, Alex, Herbert, Sandy, Nancy, Angela, Sandra, Andre and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Melissa and Michael; and other extended family. A special thanks to all friends, who remained at his side throughout his illness. Prayers will be said this evening, Wednesday, February 16 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Fr. Jose Medeiros officiating. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Joses memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
