LAURA HAZEL KINSMAN (nee HENWOOD) Hazel passed away peacefully at home at the Maples Personal Care Home on February 14, 2000. She is reunited with her late husband Jack. She was born on a farm near Neelin, Manitoba on September 9, 1897, second eldest of five children of William and Helen Henwood. She was predeceased by her brothers, Cecil (Asenith), Lorne, Gordon (Christena) and Lloyd. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary and Eveleen. Numerous family and friends from all across Canada celebrate her long life, honourably lived. Hazel has been a teacher, a farmer, a devoted wife, a mentor, a good friend and a woman of faith, a keystone to her family. She was a skilled craftswoman and artist, including in the kitchen and at cards. She was a strong and determined woman who, with husband Jack, ran their successful farm in McCrorie, Saskatchewan with great love and respect for the land. In her elder years, as a founding resident of McClure Place and parishioner at McClure United Church, she touched and improved the lives of many and will be greatly missed. The family will always be grateful for the love and support of special friends at McClure and the excellent, nurturing care she enjoyed at The Maples. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3B 2H8 or Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0S2. A Service of Praise and Thanksgiving for Hazels life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, at McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place. Interment will follow in Saskatoon.
