ETHEL ALICE HAMILTON (nee SWAIN) On Friday, February 11, 2000, in her 93rd year, Ethel Hamilton, peacefully passed away at Beacon Hill Lodge. Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Bob; her parents Dick and Belle Swain (Bisson) sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth (Ed) Ready (Swain), Pauline (Jack) Langdon (Swain) infant sister Maria Swain and nephew Jack Langdon. Ethel is lovingly remembered by her niece Joyce (Gordy) Biss (Ready) nephew Lorne (Joan) Ready; devoted friends, Ivan and Connie LeBlanc; ten great-nieces and nephews; nine great-great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-great-nephew. Ethel was born and raised and married Bob in St. Boniface. Her father, R.J. Swain was Mayor of St. Boniface for six years from 1923 to 1928. Ethel and Bob travelled to many different places during their long and happy marriage but always returned to Winnipeg, the city they both loved. In keeping with Ethels wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service was held Wednesday, February 16 at Beacon Hill Lodge. Until one day, we find the courage to accept That the living arent meant to understand death Only to celebrate life, And to remember that the only real death is forgetting.
