ISABELLE (BELLE) BETHELL Peacefully, after a brief illness on Wednesday February 16, 2000, our Mother, & Grandmother passed away at the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home at the age of 90. Belle was born in Stoughton, Saskatchewan on June 16, 1909. She was the eldest of four children born to Albert & Janet Clemens. She was predeceased by her Mother Janet in 1931; Father Albert in 1971, Husband Hillis in 1971 & Brother Wallace in 1981. Belle attended school in Stoughton, Saskatchewan. Upon graduation in 1926 she trained and worked at the Weyburn, Saskatchewan Mental Hospital as a psychiatric Nurse. In 1934 she married Hillis Bethell, at which time they moved to Winnipeg, She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Ed) Chaulk, grandsons Rob & Mark (Sue), sister Ethel Scott of Vancouver, B.C. and brother Bert Clemens of Delta, B.C. and several nieces and nephews. Belle was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the ANAF Unit No. 283, which provided her with much enjoyment over the years. She valued the many friendships she made there. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, at 12:30 p.m. from Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Committal will follow in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with a memorial reception to follow.
