Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) SAMUEL WEBSTER On February 15, 2000, John (Jack) Samuel Webster, beloved husband and best friend of Barbara Webster, passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 78. Jack was born December 6, 1921, in Salem, Ohio, U.S.A. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother and sister. Jack served in the United States Army during the Second World War. He emigrated to Canada in the 40s, lived in The Pas and then in Lynn Lake where he worked for Sherritt Gordon Mines. In 1958 he joined the CN Engineering Department in Winnipeg as a Civil Engineer, retiring in 1985. Jack was an avid golfer for many years and had been a member of Charleswood Golf Club and Southwood Golf and Country Club. He was also a Past President of the Winnipeg Chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. During the past 15 years, Jacks greatest love was wood carving. He was a member of Adanac Carvers Association in Winnipeg and the N.W.C.A. As a volunteer with A&O in St. Vital, Jack shared his knowledge of wood carving with many people by teaching for over ten years. He also loved photography and enjoyed helping the St. Vital Swingers Square Dance Club by taking pictures for them at their many functions. Jack leaves to mourn his special nieces and nephews; son John; daughter Nichola; two grandsons and one granddaughter. A special thanks is extended to the Staff on 3 East for their exceptional care, courtesy and compassion. At Jacks request, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service.
