LEONA BEVERLY SMOOK Peacefully on February 11, 2000, Leona Beverly Smook passed away at her residence. She passed away in a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by loving friends. Leona graduated from Walla Walla and Loma Linda Universities with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. She worked for the Child Guidance Clinic and Winnipeg School Division No. 1 for many years. Leona is survived by her mother Elsie Smook; sister Patricia Pong (Ian) nephews, Niven and Ryan Pong; niece Jolene Pong, all of Vancouver; friends that were like sisters, Brenda Simmie, Rhema Stewart, Joan Skeene; and many other friends and co-workers; and her Collie named Autumn. A private memorial service was held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Cerebral Palsy Association. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Daeninck and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, Palliative Care, Lorena McManus, Caroline Goerz, V.O.N., Chris and Jenny Fernando and Home Support Workers for their care and support.
