DIEDRICH (DICK) WIEBE 1926 - 2000 Very Peacefully, after a short and valiant fight with cancer, Dad passed away on February 17, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Dick was born on October 2, 1926 in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan. After coming to Winnipeg, he met and later married Noreen on June 5, 1954. Together they raised their three children in Winnipeg. Dick worked in the trucking industry all his life up until his retirement. He was active with his church at Faith Lutheran and also Kirchhoff Gardens, in which he was always a caring person and was always trying to help others. Dad was predeceased by his parents Diedrich and Helen and brothers George and Benny. Dad leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years Noreen (nee Betzold) his only son Randy (Pat) his daughters Deborah Rumpf (Gary), Kim Mrena (Rick) also eight grandchildren who he cherished and enjoyed, Colleen, Andrew, Chad (Wiebe), Kyle, Christopher, Matthew (Rumpf), and Kristin, Erin (Mrena). Also he leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Margaret (Bob), Helen (Fred), Betty (Abe), Anne (John), Mary (Harry), Nettie (John), Eva (Dennis), John (Anne), Henry and Neil. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of the 6th floor, Family Medicine and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Also a special thanks to Dr. Ehrhart, Dennis and Rachael for the special care given to Dad. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St., St. Vital with Pastor Larry Ulrich and Pastor Tim Graff officiating. Interment will take place in the Garden of Devotion at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Memorial Fund, Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, or a charity of choice. Grampy We love you, and will miss you, but know that God has taken you to a place where there is no sorrow or pain. Love, your grandchildren.
