DOROTHY ALBERTA HERZER WILLIAMSON Passed away on February 18, 2000 at the Ste. Annes Veterans Hospital, Ste. Anne De Bellevue, QC. at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Robert Dorland Williamson and her parents, Martha Detjen and Traugott Otto Frances Herzer. Mother of Sandra (Tony Phillips) of Debert NS, Hugh (Shirley) of Halifax NS, Marthanne of Maders Cove, NS, Grandmother of Ruth, Anne, Robert (Phillips), Alexander, Robin (Pyke), Samantha and Andrew. She is also survived by her brother Richard William Herzer of Vancouver, BC and her dog Roscoe. Dorothy was a good friend to many two and four legged creatures, a lover of gardening, music, travel and conversation. She was born in Calgary, AB in 1915, lived on Kingsway in Winnipeg until her marriage in 1944. She worked as an occupational therapist prior to and during the war, served as a lieutenant in the C.W.A.C., and taught "home and industry" with the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal. She lived on Linnet Crescent in Dorval from 1949 to 1991, with six years in Halifax 1966 to 1972 while her husband was Regional Manager for Air Canada. Dorothy had been a resident of Ste. Annes since 1991, where she charmed staff and residents with her unique personality. She will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at Ste. Annes Veterans Hospital Chapel on Monday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Dorothy Williamson Memorial Fund c/o The Ste. Annes Veterans Hospital Foundation.
