Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA ALEXANDRA SPENCE (NEE ROMANO) Suddenly on Thursday, February 17, 2000, Marie A. Spence passed away in Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 60 years. Marie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Gordon, of 39 years; daughter Kathryn; son James (Tracey) granddaughters Tabatha, Tiara and Ericka; great-grandchildren Tavia and Tyra; siblings Barbara (Lawrence) Alyward, Michael (Gloria) Romano, Bruce (Joan) Romano, Evelyn (Gary) Chudy; sister-in-law Regene Hurd; brother-in-law Malcom (Vi) Spence; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents Jim and Jean Romano and sister Phyllis. Marie was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother, family being a priority in her life. One of her greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren who will always remember many happy times spent at Gull Lake. She had a way of making all occasions very special. Marie was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba where she grew up and then lived in various locations in Manitoba after her marriage. Upon retiring from Victoria General Hospital, she resided at Gull Lake where her life was filled with family and friends and her love of various crafts. Prayers will be said on Monday, February 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, Manitoba with Rev. Fr. Rene Chartier presiding. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Chudy and Gary Hurd. Active pallbearers will be James and Bob Spence, Darrell and Hector Hurd, Todd Boulette and Chris Romano. Service will terminate in the church with cremation to follow.
