FRANCESCO GRANDE Peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2000, at the Health Sciences Centre with his family by his side, Francesco Grande passed away at the age of 79 years. He was predeceased by his parents Pietro Grande in 1947, Maria Grande in 1986, brother Giuseppe in 1977 and sister Rachela Falvo in 1990. Grandpa will be sadly missed and cherished by his loving wife Giuseppina of 57 years; children, Pietro, Angelina and Francesco Vaccaro, Maria and husband Tony Anania; grandchildren, Angie, Pina, Frank, Domenic, Mario, Frankie and Christina. Also surviving are his brother-in-law Giuseppe Falvo of Edmonton; sister-in-law Concetta Grande of Winnipeg; brothers-in-law, Antonio and wife Lina Mauro and Francesco and wife Angelina Scarpino all of Italy; sister-in-law Veronica Mauro of Argentina; brother-in-law Giuseppe and wife Quintina Cosentino of Montreal and sister-in-law Giovanna Fiorentino of Winnipeg; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Grandpa was born in Amato, Italy on October 21, 1920. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1951, then moved to Winnipeg four years later. He was then joined by his wife and children in 1956. He worked for the CNR for 31 years, retiring in 1982. Grandpa was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who was always there for his family. His happiest times were spent working in the garden, going for walks and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. There was nothing he wouldnt do for us. Prayers will be said on Sunday, February 20, at 6:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment to follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Frank, Domenic, Mario and Frankie; nephews, Tony and Mario. A special thank you to the paramedics and staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Sei stato sempre pieno di bonta con la famiglia e amici. Ne conpiangono tutti particolare i figli e nipoti.
