ANDREW WILLIAM BJORK On Monday, February 21, 2000 at the age of 77 years, God welcomed Dad to His eternal home. Dad was born June 11, 1922 in Lac du Bonnet, MB. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Audrey; three sons, Andy Jr. (Kathy), Alex (Hilda), and David; daughter Audrey (Darren) as well as seven grandchildren, Dwight, Wanetta, Justin, Jill, Andrew Stuart, Ashley and Trisha; four special grandchildren, Lori, Theresa, Logan and Savannah. Also surviving are two brothers, Gordon and Roy Bjork of Bissett; sister Mabel Halgren of Thunder Bay, ON; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Andrew William and Minnie Bjork; and a brother Albert. Dad worked at various jobs, mining at Long Lake and Beresford Lake. He drove truck for a number of years for Curries Transportation, brushing from Wallace Lake to Central. He retired in 1977. Dad provided for his family, built his own log home. He enjoyed tinkering around the garage, his specialty was making pickerones. The family would like to thank Dr. Van Zyl, the nursing staff and Steve of the Pine Falls Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Dad during his stay. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m. from the Manigotagan Community Centre, Manigotagan, MB, with Pastor John Zacharias officiating. Interment in the community cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the community centre one hour prior to services. Honorary pallbearers will be brother-in-law Fred Wood and grandsons, Justin and Andrew Stuart. Pallbearers will be Brian Hallett, Walter Wood, Jack Meade, Dwight Bjork, Gerry Little and Dennis Little.
