Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN CUNNINGTON Jean Cunnington January 31, 1919 to February 21, 2000, the oldest daughter of Albert and Ellen Evans. Jean was predeceased by her parents and beloved daughter Roberta Poole. Sorely mourning her death is her husband Lawrence whom she married in 1941; her son Gordon (Darlene) and seven grandchildren; Bradley Poole, Laurel Rose (Dave), David Poole, Nicole Cunnington, Drew Cunnington, Kristie Cunnington and Jennifer Cunnington; her sisters Isobel (Stan) Price, Marion Murray and Marjorie Renwick. Jean lived in the Warren District most of her life. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, 4-H Leader, and active in the Warren Womens Institute. Jean was well known for her beautiful gardens, delicious baking and warm hospitality. Her hand knitted creations have warmed her family for years. Jean was very proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Jean tended to her husband at home for two years after he suffered a stroke in 1991, after which she visited him faithfully at the Middlechurch Care Home and then Rosewood Lodge until the toll of her cancer made it impossible. The loss of her daughter Roberta who died May 6, 1985 devastated her so much that she never overcame her passing. She was a major caregiver during her daughters battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel Stonewall on Monday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. M. Whitehead will officiate. The Service will conclude at the chapel. Friends who so desire may make donations to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9. The family would like to express their thanks for all of the warm and special attention and care given by the Home Care Staff, the Stonewall Hospital and Dr. R. Suss. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of the arrangements.
