Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERTE PATENAUDE (nee BLANCHARD) Peacefully, in her sleep, on February 19, 2000, Alberte Patenaude, age 80 years, passed away at Foyer Valade. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lucille (Jim), Georges of Toronto, Albert (Joan), Roland (Elenore), Louis (Diane), and Marie (Paul) of Ottawa; her sister Lucienne of Vancouver and her brother Rene (Mary) of Cobble Hill, BC; also her grandchildren, Noel, Andrea, Chris, Jeannette, Janine, Angeline, Justin, Meagan, Natalie and Adrian; one great-grandchild, Jewel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born on June 1, 1919 in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. She lived for her children and her music. As a young woman of 16, she was a finalist at the Rose Bowl in the Music Festival and a long singing career followed including opera, weddings, choral music and folk songs. She never missed an opportunity to include music at any gathering. Her passion for music has been lovingly transmitted to all her children and grandchildren. Her loving and giving nature made everyone feel that she was "Mom". The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital (6th floor) and Foyer Valade for their care and support. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St. with Fr. Marcel Chaput presiding. Service to terminate at church.
