DOROTHY JEAN PETERSON November 18, 1925 - February 23, 2000 It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing away of our beloved wife, mom, baba gramma, friend and angel, Dorothy, at the Seven Oaks Hospital on Wednesday, February 23, 2000. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, James and Janet Laurie and sisters, Marnie and Gert; brother Bob. Dorothy is survived by her sister Alice and brothers, Bill, George, Danny and Gordie; sister-in-law Kay and brother-in-law Bill and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving husband Edmund Peterson and their children, Janet Adamson (Frank), Gary Peterson (Donna), Michael Peterson (Joanne), Elizabeth Peterson (Ken Slivinski), Catherine Barrett, John Peterson (Allison), Teresa Peterson, Paul Peterson (Kimberly) grandchildren, Donna Posaluko (Rob), Ed Adamson (Donnarae), David Adamson (Jennifer), Shawn Peterson, Darcy Peterson, Jordin Peterson, Megan Peterson, Madison Peterson Slivinski, Michael Barrett, Chris Barrett, Paul Peterson, Jane Peterson, Alyssa Peterson, Abbey Peterson; great-grandchildren, Samantha Adamson, Dori Adamson, Lindsay Adamson and special baby "Dexter". Dorothy is our real treasure, she was a beautiful, kind, loving woman who put family and friends above all else. She took great joy in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the past few weeks this simple verse gave mom great comfort and expressed feelings of her life and loves. "Through diligent and creative love, a family can fit like a hand in a glove; each finger in its own space, together creating a warm hand clasp." Prayers will be held on Friday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 300 Donalda Ave. with Brother Greg Mulligan O.F.M. Cap. officiating. There will be a private family interment at a later date. Many thanks to Dr. D. Miller and Dr. J. Lezack and all the nursing staff of the Seven Oaks Hospital 5U3. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothys name may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9. We take great comfort in knowing our loving angel is now a heavenly angel.
