GORDON WILLIAM SHACKELL Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, with family and caring nursing staff, on Wednesday, February 16, 2000, of Gordon William Shackell of Winnipeg, Man. age 47 years. Beloved brother of Doug (Carole) Shackell of Charlottetown, PEI and his sister Judi (George) Gilraine of Dublin, Ireland. Gord was predeceased by parents, Leslie and Helen Shackell of Winnipeg, Man. and also leaves to mourn aunts, Edith Rae and Eileen Hurlburt of Winnipeg, Man. and uncle Fred Shackell of Vancouver Island. Gord was born in Winnipeg, August 10, 1952 and was employed with Air Canada for 26 years. His strong sense of determination helped him to achieve his wish to spend his final days on "The Island" with his brother and sister-in-law. Cremation under the care of Belvedere Funeral Home, Charlottetown. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 28 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Pauls Anglican Church on North Drive and Point Rd., Fort Garry. If so desired, memorials to the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, 5 Brighton Rd., Charlottetown, PEI C1A 8T6 would be appreciated. Put your arms around him Lord.
