Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN (GENIA) LUPYRYPA (nee RUDKO) 1914 - 2000 After a long battle with cancer, Jean Lupyrypa passed away at the Betel Home, Gimli, MB, at the age of 85 years. Her endurance and strength as she fought her cancer is to be admired. Jean was born on December 6, 1914 in Hayek, MB. She married Paul Lupyrypa on June 8, 1935 and moved to Riverton, MB where she raised her family and worked alongside her husband in the family business for 40 years. After her husbands death, Jean resided in Winnipeg and in Haines Junction and in the Yukon, NWT. She eventually relocated to Gimli where she remained until her death. She will be remembered for her quiet and caring ways. She was a friend to all and a person always willing to extend her help to others. She cared deeply for her family and spent many hours nurturing and babysitting her grandchildren as they were growing up. With affection her family can say that "Baba Jean" was always there when she was needed. She could often be seen visiting her sons at the Northernaire Golf Course in Arnes, MB. Jean was predeceased by her husband Paul on August 4, 1974 and by her son Fred on July 29, 1998. Remaining to cherish her memory are many relatives and friends, her ten grandchildren and her three remaining children and their families, Ed (Doris), MaryAnn (Jim) Masyk and Grace (Gordon) Olafson. The family would like to thank Dr. R.C. Patel and those who did kindly attend to our mothers special needs at the Betel Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Deacon Ray Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in the Shorncliffe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
