JULES R. ALLARD Peacefully, on Wednesday, February 23, 2000, Jules Roland Lionel Allard, 79 years of age, passed away at his home to be with his Lord. Jules will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Therese Regnier; his children, Paulette and Dan, Margot and Francois, Andree and John, Valerie and Bruce, and Gerard and Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Jade and Isabeau, Nika and Danielle, Luc and Michaela, and Dane. He also leaves to mourn his passing, members of the Allard family, sisters; Gilberte, Therese and Laurette; sisters-in-law, Toni, Sandy and Laurette; members of the Regnier family, Marie-Ange, Maurice and Patricia, Renee and Bert, Father Gerard, Carmel and Karl, Marguerite, Anne Marie and Stan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jules was born in Baie Saint-Paul. He served in the Winnipeg Rifle Infantry, taking part in the Normandy Landing; thereafter, he farmed in the Lido Plage area and the Saint-Francois-Xavier Parish for 25 years. He served on the School Board, Farmers Union Board, Caisse Populaire Board, Town Planning Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He spent eight years as Headingly mail courier before his retirement. He was also an active choir member and had a great zest for collecting old cars. His greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He recently cherished a celebration of 50 years of marriage. He will be fondly remembered for his generosity, gentleness and a keen sense of humour. Funeral services will be held at the Saint-Francois-Xavier Church in Saint-Francois on Saturday, February 26. Fathers Gerard Regnier and Lafreniere will concelebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will take place an hour prior to the mass. The service will terminate at the church. A private interment of Jules cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Jules memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3B 2H8 or to the Cemetery Fund of the Saint-Francois-Xavier Parish.
