Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAX HAYMAN, M.D. Formerly of Winnipeg, February 22, 2000 at the age of 91 years, in Marin County, California. Born in Winnipeg, he took his B. Sc. and M.D. degrees at the University of Manitoba, then moved to the United States, where he received certification in psychiatry and neurology. Author of "Alcoholism: Mechanism and Management," he was Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA from 1956-1967. He founded the Hayman Center of the Desert Alcoholism Coalition in 1972. A generous contributor to Jewish causes and charities, he endowed the Hayman Family Forest in Israel and established several awards and lectureships for the study of the Holocaust. He is survived by his son, Martin Hayman; his daughter, Lorraine Helms; his brothers, Benjamin Hayman and Julius Hayman, and his companion, Madeline Boyer.
