MAXINE EMILY (SHOLOGIN) YURKOWSKI It is with deepest sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother. She passed away peacefully at Fred Douglas Lodge with her family at her side on February 22, 2000 to once again join her husband who predeceased her on October 5, 1995. Hand in hand, they will watch over their children, Joan (Paul) Myskiew, Louise Tod, Gordon (Leonore) Yurkowski; and grandchildren, Todd, Clayton (Kathleen) Myskiew, Clinton, Lynn and Lisa Tod, Ryan and Rebecca Yurkowski. She also leaves to mourn two sisters, Elsie Clark, Lilly Natchuk and one brother Eugene Shologin. She was predeceased by one sister Mary Sesiuk. Maxine was born January 18, 1920 in Zhoda, MB to Anne and Knat Shologin where she grew up and married Frank on February 9, 1938. Together they survived the depression, droughts and hard times with a genuine spirit and zest for life. They farmed in Zhoda until 1952 when they moved to Winnipeg. Mom, at various times, worked at Fairfields, Post Office, catering, M.T.S., ending her working career at Health Sciences Centre until she retired to care for a disabled relative. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and many happy hours were spent making blueberry perogies and homemade sausage. She will be deeply missed by all and fondly remembered for her loving concern, kindness and friendship. She was a beautiful thread in the tapestry of our lives. Goodbye, Mom, well miss you. The family would like to thank all the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for their kindness and care, with special thanks to the Spruce Wing. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday evening, February 25, between 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 9:00 a.m. also at Cropo Chapel with interment to follow in Zhoda, MB. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 586-8044.
