GEORGE WILLIAM STAPLETON It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Husband and Father, George, on February 24, 2000 at the age of 83 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ella. Besides his loving wife Edie, he is survived by his daughter Alice Aime (Doug) of Petersfield. Also survived by his sisters, Mary Hallett, Beatrice Stodgell, Dorothy Imla (Dan) brother Wilfred (Betty) of Fisher Branch, MB and sister-in-law Irene Glover (Len) of Calgary along with numerous nieces and nephews. George was born on April 25, 1916 in Hilton, MB. He came to Fisherton, MB with his parents at an early age. He began farming early in life and after his marriage to Edie, they continued to work side by side on the family farm until retiring. He enjoyed hunting, working in his shop, playing cards and listening to old time music. He loved animals. He was a patient man and had a good sense of humour. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff at the Percy Moore Hospital for their care during Georges brief stay. Thanks also to Shannon Pyziak and the home care workers. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28 at the Fisher Funeral Home in Fisher Branch, MB with Rev. Barry Bear officiating.
